Last Friday we held a special workout in honor of our guests from Hyperfit USA (CrossFit Ann Arbor, MI). It was also a make-up workout for those who missed the chipper workout this week.
Lee, Miki and Doug from Hyperfit USA were in town for the CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Cert.

Congratulations to Andrew on his new PR for Fran. He completed 21, 15 and 9 of Thrusters and pull-ups in 3:24.
On August 16th, we began a 10-week strength building program using Mark Rippetoe's and Lon Kilgore's Starting Strength program. Due to the recent fires, we postponed our test week for an additional two weeks. Our premise was to see if we could build strength through powerlifting and still maintain or improve upon CrossFit-type workouts. The over-all results were phenomenal! The experiment began week one and ended week 10 with the following workouts:
Monday: "Fran"; Tuesday: For time: 50 Box Jumps, 5 Rope climbs, 50 KB Swings, 50 Sit-ups, 50 Hang Power Cleans, 800 meter run, 50 Back Extensions; Wednesday: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Clean and Jerks and Max set of pull-ups and Thursday: "CrossFit Total".
